Regional Parts Manager

We are seeking a skilled and organized Parts Manager to oversee our inventory and supply chain for parts and supplies for all Independence Excavating locations. The candidate will manage the procurement, tracking, and distribution of parts to ensure our fleet and equipment operates efficiently. This role requires a proactive professional with experience in inventory management, vendor relations, and exceptional organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management:
    • Maintain accurate record of part inventories, including ordering, receiving, stocking, shipping, and usage.
    • Implement and maintain systems to track usage and forecast demand to prevent shortages or overstocking.
    • Identify and create inventory for fast moving, frequently used parts.
    • Travel between inventory locations and jobsites as needed.
  • Procurement:
    • Source and purchase parts and supplies from reliable vendors at competitive prices.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts when needed.
    • Maintain and setup new and current accounts.
  • Distribution:
    • Coordinate the distribution of parts to mechanics and job sites as required.
    • Ensure prompt and efficient delivery of parts and supplies to maintain equipment uptime.
  • Maintenance Coordination:
    • Direct regional parts personnel to shift parts and supplies when the demand focus changes.
    • Collaborate with Regional Maintenance and Project Managers for all parts and supplies requirements for repairs and job sites.
    • Work with Regional Maintenance and Project Managers on large scale projects that will hold parts inventory on jobsite.
    • Keep detailed records of parts used for repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures for the parts department.
    • Supervise and train parts department staff on standard operating procedures.
    • Foster a positive and efficient work environment.
  • Cost Management:
    • Monitor parts-related expenses and implement strategies to control costs.
    • Analyze data to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.


Do you have what it takes?

  • Preferred knowledge of yellow iron heavy equipment
  • Organization and Computer Competency
  • Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 60 pounds
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Willing to travel
  • CDL drivers license, or willingness to obtain one, and a clean driving record
